your options in safes for your family

Do you have somewhere in your home to keep your valuables and important documents safe? If not, now is the time to look into getting a safe. I never thought that I needed to have a safe in my home, but since we had a fairly serious fire, my opinion has changed. Unfortunately, the fire had damaged the part of my home that I store all of my important paperwork. This caused me a great deal of work that I really didn't have the time to do since I was working to repair the damage to my home. Since that time, I have had two fireproof safes installed in my home and you would never even know that they are there. Learn about the different options in safes that you have to decide what would be best for your family.

3 Ways To Get Into Your Locked Car

Leaving work to find out that you locked yourself out of your car is never a good thing. When you do realize that you have locked yourself out, you are desperate to figure out how to get into your car so that you can go home. So, what are some things that you can do to get into your car?

Magnetic Keyholder

If this isn't the first or second time you have locked yourself out of your car, you may want to think about getting a magnetic keyholder so that you can stash an emergency key somewhere on your car. The keyholders are just small enough to fit a door key into. You can stick the holder any place on your car where there is a piece of metal. You probably want to stash it somewhere reasonably accessible, but not terribly obvious.

The Trunk

You might not have even realized that you can get into your car through the trunk. If your trunk is accessible, then you should be able to get into your car. Most newer model cars have an emergency cord in the trunk so that if someone gets trapped in the trunk, they can get out. When the cord is pulled, it releases the back seats so that the seats can be pushed forward into the passenger area of the car. The cord is usually somewhere right inside the trunk door or on the roof of the trunk. You can pull that, and crawl through the back seat and unlock your car.

Locksmith

If all else fails, you always have the choice to call an auto locksmith (such as one from Global Lock and Key). They will be able to come out and get you into your car. The nice thing about having a locksmith coming to get your into your car is that they can generally do it without doing any damage to your car. If you tried to jimmy the locks to get into the car yourself, you may end up damaging the lock. Most auto locksmiths will even have tools that will let them unlock your car even if your car has an electronic lock. The locksmith should be able to make a new key on the spot for you if you need a new one.

Getting locked out of your car is never a good thing. Knowing what to do if something happens will let you get into your car and home faster.
